The 12-in-2 Japanese weave is an example of a weave that uses a hexagonal grid pattern. This weave yields a very solid piece that has a noticeable weight to it. While this weave can certainly be made into longer pieces, such as necklaces, using precious metals, be prepared for a piece that might be uncomfortably heavy to wear. For longer pieces we recommend the standard weave that is only 2-rings wide rather than the wider weave that is 3-rings wide. Alternatively, consider a longer piece in lighter materials such as aluminum.
